You Are Not Alone

The era of mental health stigma is rapidly ending and I’m here for it.
I’d like to acknowledge some of the people that have given me inspiration and motivation to be more outspoken about my own mental health struggles. My personal biggest influence for the last few years is Jen Gotch who has been completely open and vulnerable with her own struggles in a way that gave me and a lot of other people the courage to talk about mental health. The ladies of My Favorite Murder constantly speak out about the importance of therapy and ending the stigma on medication (two worlds colliding with Georgia’s #myfavoritemeds hashtag, which Jen also participated in). The artwork and completely gut-wrenching vulnerability of Mari Andrew makes me feel so many things.
There are so many amazing people speaking out about body positivity and how it affects our mental state and self esteem, like Megan of bodyposipanda. There’s so many other organizations doing important work like The National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) & Buddy Project.
Even when it doesn't feel like it - I promise you are not alone.
